So, I checked my earnings today just after 10:00 am PST / 1 pm EST (which is when updates on eHow seem to take place) and what do I see - my total earnings are just shy of $10!! Over $8 of that happened overnight! I was pretty blown away - I was hoping to cross the $1 mark, but this? Dare I hope for this trend to continue? Let's see, I've been on eHow for just shy of 1week, and my revenue trend has been: nothing for the first couple of days, then steadily increasing trickles of pennies for the next 2-3 days, and then a (relatively) whopping jump of several dollars! I have been adding articles at a good clip though - I'm up to 25 eHow articles in a week, although the pace is sure to slow down soon, once the holidays are over and I get buried in work. Still, even if I can write 1 or articles a day...
Regardless, I'm treating this as a fun gig. I do not want to get caught up in the chase for ever greater revenues. Am fortunate enough to not have to pursue this is as a major income source, and I don't want to turn this into a second job - if I wanted that, I would have taken up waiting tables, or tutoring, or something like that. I like the idea of writing fun little pieces that take up no more than minutes of my time, and seeing a little money trickle in. And I would have otherwise wasted that time doing silly things like clicking on random Facebook status updates, so this at least has me productively occupied. I'll see if I can change the title or byline of this blog to something like "the lazy way of making money on eHow" because that's what it's about for me.
